Our first priority is helping you take care of yourself and your family. We want to learn more about your personal situation, identify your dreams and goals, and understand your tolerance for risk. Long-term relationships that encourage open and honest communication have been the cornerstone of my foundation of success.

Before committing your time or ours, this 15-minute phone call will give us both a chance to make sure your situation matches our expertise. After all, you wouldn’t see a Neurosurgeon if you needed heart surgery.

If we aren’t a good fit, either way, you’ll leave the conversation with an action plan: we’ll gladly introduce you to a firm who may be better suited to your needs.

The goal of this meeting is to get crystal clear on your goals, intentions, challenges, and opportunities unique to your situation and circumstances.

Before this meeting, we will request a few important documents. This data will drive our analysis and result in plain-English answers to the four critical questions.

This is where the magic happens.

We will apply 15+ years of experience, thousands of hours of training, studying, and mentoring by the profession’s top experts to answer the following four critical questions:

  1. Are you on track to reach your long-term goals (e.g., Can you afford to retire? or Can you live a work-optional lifestyle?)?
  2. Are you overpaying your taxes?
  3. Can your portfolio be improved?
  4. Can you eliminate, or at least reduce threats to your retirement?
4: Second Meeting

4: Second Meeting

This is where the rubber meets the road.

 With the analysis complete, we will have a second meeting to review the results.

 In plain English, we will explain exactly what you need to do to pursue your financial goals. We will also answer the four critical questions we asked during our analysis.

 This is where you will see, in dollars and cents, how our firm works to improve your finances.

 At the end of this meeting, we will ask you if you would like to begin working with our firm or if you’d like to sleep on it.

We are looking for long-term client relationships, not a quick transaction.

To help you make a smart decision, you will want to answer these questions:

  • Do I like, value, and respect the Sherman Private Wealth team?
  • Do the benefits outweigh the cost?
  • Do I understand and agree with their investment approach?
  • Do their financial planning recommendations make sense?

 We will follow-up within a few days to determine how you would like to move forward.

We are truly honored to be working with you. Before the fun begins, we will regroup (via phone or in-person) to answer any outstanding questions and set expectations for the new client process.

Yes! While many of our clients are in Michigan and Illinois, we work with retirement savers all over the United States. Our firm is equipped to meet with clients and potential clients through the video conferencing software, Zoom. Each virtual meeting is protected by a complex, unique password, and we adhere to the strict security guidelines necessary to protect your privacy.

Our Private Client Experience is a one-time process that results in a fully custom Retirement & Tax Plan. We do not charge for the Executive Summary Plan produced from our Private Client Experience. With the plan complete, you will have the option to engage us for full-service, ongoing services. (i.e., Hire us to do the heavy lifting for you!) Our full-service model includes ongoing oversight of investments, plan updates, tax planning, and coordinates the components involved in delivering reliable retirement paychecks. The annual fee typically ranges from $7,000/year to $50,000/year, depending on complexity.

Good financial planning is a process, not an event. Therefore, we do our best work with people looking for a long-term relationship. Our firm does not offer an hourly fee schedule or a one-time project fee option. The exception is if you are interested in hiring our firm for long-term retirement planning and investment management but are within just a few years from being able to rollover your retirement nest egg. We are not currently equipped to offer hourly planning services. If you need help locating an hourly financial planner, send us a note, and we will do our best to get you in the right hands. Through the Private Client Experience, if we mutually determine we're the right long-term partner, you will have the option to move into our full-service wealth management model where Sherman Private Wealth provides ongoing oversight of investments, plan updates, tax planning, and coordinates the components involved in delivering reliable retirement paychecks.

There are three really important things about our firm that separate us from others: 1. All we do is retirement planning. We are retirement specialists with the simple goal of making sure you retire with confidence and don't overpay the IRS. 2. We limit the number of new clients we take on to deliver massive value and personalized service. 3. We begin every new relationship with a one-time retirement plan, allowing you to work closely with us before hiring us for ongoing services. 4. We study hard so we can recommend creative, well-researched strategies that will make the biggest impact on your retirement success. This is why we are so serious about forward-looking tax planning, where lifetime savings from these strategies alone can be hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Great question! But first, let us explain why you shouldn't hire us. If you're looking for an advisor who will trade stocks to "beat the market," you're in the wrong place. Why? Because we only focus on what you can control. Predicting if the stock market will go up or down, or guessing what interest rates will do next, are not things you can control. But if you're interested in things like lowering your tax bill, investing smarter, and creating a retirement income stream, you're in the right place.
